Welcome to the first WPSA Snooker19 League!
The aim of this league is to serve as a "get to know each other", a first step to further future events, and to work out possible kinks in the rules or scoring system that need adjustments. This league will have a simple setup. For good measure we are listing a expanded set of rules below.

Registration Process

Format

  • The League will have a Round Robin format with a home & away setup, meaning everyone will play against every other player in the league twice.

  • A schedule is created and deadlines to work of matches for each round will be set. (League administration will be lenient on this matter)

  • All matches will have a best of 3 Frames setup.

  • Aiming guides for this tournament will be on amateur.

Scoring and ties in the League

  • Each Frame won = 1 point.

  • Each Match won = 1 point.

  • Highest Breaks are to be tracked! Scores are put down per frame.

  • Ranking on the roster league is done by the custom point system explained above.

  • In case of ties at the end of the league the following Challonge tie break rules apply: TB1: Points scored; TB2: Match Wins; TB3: Wins vs Tied Participants.

Reporting results to challonge

  • Every member can report results
  • Make sure to add a set for each played frame! (important for the scoring system!)

Deadlines and absences

  • Members who fail to register on time can sadly not be put in the league after the registration deadline expired, they simply are non active for that event. No penalties are given, they can always participate in the next league or another event

  • Once a League has started members must work of their matches before the set deadlines. Failure to do this will result in an automatic loss. At least one of the players must show they did send messages to get in contact with the opponent for the match in question. If the payer in question fails to continuously get in contact with other players forfeit scores will be noted for the remaining matches.
(NOTE: In this first league some leniency will be given on this matter if needed by the League directors, do note that there is a end deadline to be respected, and in order to ensure progression league administration will have to make decisions at one point...)

First WPSA Snooker19 League Updates

After the first week of the league we have a majority of the matches already played! Which means the last week will be somewhat a relaxed one and just work off the remaining matches.
We still have a couple matches that are postponed so do put priority on those matches!

As a reminder the league can be extended by a couple days to get the matches in. Don't get slacking though get in contact with each other and work those games!!!

Also on a point of order.
The schedule allows us to work of the matches in time at this point in time, so on the postponed matches, wait with reporting. If the planned match was for week one to be finished but its not, that is no problem at all just give those matches priority in week2.

Day2 high break results
The highest break of Potus hs been broken by Luka Modric he made a high break of 70 during their match. At another table this was broken again by Misterduke by placing a break of 80 on the board in the match against Croc. If that was not enough, Alexav one of the new members shattered all records made earlier on the day by putting a first century break on the board one no less than 104!

Do keep track of those high breaks and report them back!!

In a first time event there are always some kinks to be worked out. This one is no different. In the mean time feel free to throw in your own feedback!

The first one we have encountered already is the scoring point tracking. The idea was to keep track of all frames but it wasn't specified clearly in the rules. (guilty as charged)

And a mention on how to report the results for multiple frames was not explained either. (strike2) As a result the first match that was reported was done with the 1-0, 0-1 form of reporting scores. Since we cannot track points properly anymore from that point on we decided to stay with the 1-0,0-1 form.

The tie breaker options may have to be reviewed as well in the future but at the moment we don't see a need to do that. We have since updated the rules with an inclusion on how to report a match with multiple frames as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another kink in the system that will need clear rules on to avoid confusion or arguments is when technical issues happen, examples of timed out connections or freeze ups come to mind. It will be beneficial if we can work out a clear rule list that can be followed in such occasions.

For the freeze up problem a not 100% confirmed fix but pretty certain that it does is hitting the esc button twice.
Also do not try to alt tab during the game this can be a cause to these problems.

Very Important DO KEEP TRACK OF THE HIGHEST BREAKS.
