-We would like that members sign up on the WPSA Website as well. We intend to have our main discussions here.
-We also ask that players make use of either Teamspeak3: 178.238.231.226 or the new Discord we have set up for all WPSA members to use.
-All current members will get a link to the registration page for the division they are requested to join in.
-All new members signing up during the registration to WPSA will automatically get a link to Division 3.
-Registration opens on December 31st 2019 and closes on January 5th 2020.
-The League starts when registration closes.
-The WPSA Cup tournament registration opens once at least one division finished their matches. The start is depended on time of completion by all divisions.

Format:
-Division 1 and 2 will each have a cap of 4 players.
-Division 3 will have no cap, all new players signing up to the WPSA  automatically start in this division, and gets classified as a beginner group player.

-Everyone plays each other 2 times within their respective division.
-All matches are best of 3 frame games.
-The aiming guides to be used in every division will be on pro.
-A schedule is created and deadlines to work of matches for each round will be set.
(League administration will be lenient on this matter). It will basically be a certain amount of matches you have to get in by a certain date.

Prize money:
-There is prize money to be won in this league season for each division. The cup tournament will also have a prize attached to it.

Promotions and relegations:
This season the following promotions and relegations are in place for this season. If for some reason during the registration 10+ people or so all the sudden sign up to the WPSA then we will have a backup plan in place to expand further and faster if needed before the league starts. If this happens then some adjustments in this chapter will take place.

-Division 3: First place is the Division 3 Champion. Top 2 gets promoted to Division 2.

-Division 2: First place is the Division 2 Champion. champion gets promoted to Division 1, last place gets relegated to Division 3. No play off bracket for promotions, there will also be no play off bracket in place for relegations.

-Division 1: First place is the Division 1 Champion, last place gets relegated to Division 2. No promotions in this league for obvious reasons…
There is also no play off bracket in place for relegations

Scoring and ties:
-A match win = 1 point.
-A frame/set win = 1 point.
-Ranking on the roster is based on the custom point system described above.
-At the end of the season your ranking will be determined on score (points + match wins).
-If there is a tie break the following challonge tie break rules apply: TB1 Match Wins, TB2 points (Basically frames won), TB3 number of match wins vs tied participants (Basically who won more matches between each other).

Following WPSA Cup Tournament after the league season:
-First 2 places of each division gets qualified for the WPSA Cup Tournament. So this is a 6 player tournament.
-The WPSA Cup Tournament will have a double elimination format.
-All matches will be best of 3 frame games, the final will be a best of 5 frame game.
-Players who lose their match in round 1 will be redirected to round 1 of the losers bracket.
-Players who lose their match in round 2 will be redirected to round 1 of the losers bracket.
-The player who loses the semi final will be redirected to the semi final losers bracket. The bracket you get put in is determined on what place you end this season.

Reporting scores to Challonge:
-Every member can report results if you don’t know how to do it ask an admin.
-All frames/ sets are to be noted down on the score report card.
-Make sure to add a set for each played frame! This is important for the scoring system
-In an ideal world we would like to keep track of every frame score but a simple 1-0 or 0-1 reporting is good enough.

Postponing/ mid session intervals:
-If a match needs to be postponed then click on “match in progression” on the Challonge bracket match in question and make a mention on the discussion board or inform Tournament Administration and they will do it for you.
-Make sure that when you report a mid session interval on the discussion board of Challonge to include the match affected and what the current score is.

Setting up matches, deadlines and absences:
-All participants will have the full freedom to arrange all the matches against their opponents themselves. Get in contact with each other, the steam group, Teamspeak3 and Discord are all platforms for you to get in contact with your opponent easily, if you need help to get in contact with a member inform league administration.

-Matches don’t need to be worked off round by round you can easily do a match planned at the end on day 1,2,3…

-Members who fail to register on time can sadly not be put in the league after the registration deadline expired, they simply are non active for that event. No severe penalties are given, they can always participate in the next league or another event.

-There will be one consequence and this is to safeguard screw ups in the determination of how the following season has to be shaped. If a member in the WPSA community does not participate for 3 consecutive seasons then they will when they return have to start in Division 3.

-Once a League has started members must work of their matches before the set deadlines. Failure to do this will result in an automatic loss. At least one of the players must show they did send messages to get in contact with the opponent for the match in question.

-If the payer in question fails to continuously get in contact with other players forfeit scores will be noted for the remaining matches.

-If both players are inactive league administration will toss up a coin to solve “dead matches”.

Snooker “etiquettes” and conduct around and on the table:
-Always be respectful to your opponent. Never resort to cursing or swearing at your opponent, snooker is considered to be a gentleman's sport act like it.

-Some players in the group require some patience as they are not as tech savvy as some of us might be, be understanding and help them out.

-Give players time to respond to your messages, don't spam them with steam phone calls, messages or Teamspeak 3 pokes if they don’t reply to you immediately.
-Don’t prolong games unnecessary. If you need a crazy amount of snookers to get back in the game then cut your loss.

-Don’t concede the frame if your opponent is on a break and he has crossed the mark of “snookers needed for the opponent” he might be on the roll for a high break or a clearance grant him that chance as you would like it yourself should you be in such a situation.

Rules on technical issues and game bugs and glitches:
-Sometimes the game suddenly disconnects and will give a “timed out connection” message. If this happens then the frame in progression will sadly need to be replayed. The frames that already been played do not need to be replayed and are valid.

-If the problem persists then the game can be postponed, do make a mention of it on the discussion board on the tournament Challonge page. And mark the game as “in progress” by clicking the play button next to match in question.

-If the frame in play was going heavily one sided then players must come to an agreement on either conceding the frame or replay it. Come to a gentleman's agreement  and we ask that the player on the losing side of such a frame not to exploit this, cut your losses be fair if there was no realistic way of getting back into the frame… This is a rather rare occurrence (timed out connections) in the previous events out of 39 matches played, 2 froze up. If we begin to notice that a player is exploiting by doing a “lets pull out our WiFi cable” or something that can cause a desync, a DQ can follow! in case of disputes league administration will be the final judge.

-Sometimes the game freezes up, you can tell this if the commentator is late with reporting score and if the player character is standing next to the table staring onto the table. A confirmed fix to this is hit “ESC” 2 times (menu and back to game).

-It is recommended not to “ALT-TAB” while you are in the game, this can cause previous mentioned problems, “SHIFT-TAB” should not be a problem (steam overlay)

-The game has a couple bugs regarding the free ball rule, there is nothing we can do on that as it is a game issue, what we can say is watch the result of the cue-ball line. If the line is white the shot should be legit, if the line is read then don’t take the shot as it will result in a fault even though you selected the free ball option and the shot would be legit.
